The Tattoo

2 min read
"Now, everyday at the same time I will think of you. And everyday at the same time, you will think about me. Never let anyone tell you your rose is ordinary, for only she has tamed you, and only you are special to her, thus, she is unique to your heart." - La Petit Prince.

There are a great many reasons why I love foxes; the words above, spoken by a fox in a story, can only be one. But the foxes in stories are unlike other creatures in the way they are portrayed as so many different things; demons, angels, beasts, lovers and even as polite well mannered characters with a devious streak. Whether you speak of the character from "the golden bird" or the title folk in "the fox and the brothel" no two foxes are quite alike.

I have wanted a tattoo for many years, but the circumstances for such just weren't available, but when I this week finally got my tattoo; a fox was the obvious choice for me (for more reasons than I list, but I don't feel like pouring my black heart out). I had drawn the concept for the tattoo over six months before I got it, so I knew what is was getting into; sort of. As much as one can; because god they hurt. A lot. But in the end it was worth it, so I'm taking especially good care of it. (Not that you shouldn't anyway - I'm just professing my love for the tattoo.)

Either way, I'm just excited and felt the need to share it. If anyone has any tattoo stories, considerations, thoughts or questions; speak now or forever hold your peace.

Project N

1 min read
Everybody needs something to do during the summer holidays; and thus Project N is born. Project N is a collection of sketches of the character designer (among other things) NomuraTetsuya  (more info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetsuya_… )who has worked on some of the most infamous videogames, and designed some of the most badass characters of all time. (Think FF, KH, and TWEWY)

Selecting a few of the most well known characters from well known games wasn't too difficult, drawing them can be, some turned out great, others less great. And even though the project isn't finished yet, the general conclusion is my sketches are getting better, as are my other original sketches.

Anyway; I give you Project N. leaxys.deviantart.com/gallery/…

And I challenge you to start your own project!

Concert

2 min read
It started with a shiver up my spine, a guitar chord, anticipation, and then... Human...  It ended with When You Were Young, and maybe; thus far the greatest, brightest concert of my young and inexperienced life. And it was the Day and Age tour; 2009. The Killers.

Live.

Most of all, it was awesome. The sound was so clear it made our [both mine and a friends'] ears ring; the lights made us blink. And the guitarist entered and I yelled "He's got an X-plorer!" to my friend and it was drowned in the screams of the crowd. Truth be told, from across fourteen rows and a fairly-full mosh pit, I'm pretty sure it was an x-plorer, the first of at least four guitars that night.

The crowd seemed to scream and dance all night long, wild, even for a Monday night; one filled with blustery weather and even snow.  And the Killers worked through all of their well-known hits (Mr. Brightside, Somebody Told Me, Read My Mind), and a bunch of the Day and Age songs, (Neon Tiger, Joyride) and even playing the Abbey-Road (and the normal version mixed in) of Sam's Town.

There was this most amazing moment during the song All These Things That I've Done, when the band just played, and Brandon Flowers held up his hands, and the crowd caught on, slowly at first, and then with more volume, until the whole place echoed with "I got soul—but I'm not a soldier. I've got soul—but I'm not a soldier." And the Idea that everybody at the concert, in that giant arena, caught on, and screamed, sang, and whispered those words; is a concept that is beyond those very words.

"I got soul—but I'm not a soldier"

It made my neurotic-emotional breakdown laced-exhausting-day.

And I am so happy I didn't miss it.

I've been thinking, not that that's so unsusual, but being so close to the hollidays, and with the amount of presure teachers are putting on us, the students, to better our grades to pass so they may never have to teach us again (if only they're that lucky.) I've started to go back to some of my old writings, poetry, small mental snapshots of thoughts and such. And I found this rather interesting one.

<< "Most people think that power is confidence or strength in physical manifestion.

But there is real power in the other things that make you feel any sort of pride.

Being able to make people choose to laugh, smile, or even stare is a power, and it comes from some kind of emotion. eventualy at the end of all things, anger becomes understanding becomes empathy, and sadness becomes sympathy becomes experiance. Happiness becomes memory becomes thoutfulness, and love becomes becomes a state of being." >>

I believe these words were spoken to a freind, on October the 24th, 2008, around 6pm. And I liked th words enough to remember them, but i guess in the end, full circle, they are only words.

I like to beleive that they were writen with an intension though, and that they're a reminder of evolution, of striving, but mostly of living.

There is no conclussion or possible 'point' to draw, because this is really only a statement, not anthing to beleive in, but rather mundane and mindless words of comfort for a freind; but words they are and words i wrote.

Happy hollidays.

Holiday Rush!

2 min read

Holidays: Oh the splendid….

It seems that everybody plans everything for the death of the year. Seriosly, it’s almost like the whole world goes into this panic and everybody becomes in a rush to get everything done, report cards, school musicals and plays, asignments and exams, library books are due, the prices go up and the sales are minimal on new items for Christmas and everyone is in a panic to buy and/or make they’re Christmas presents.

I guess in all that rush, I’m trying to find time to work on my art, to refine my guitar, to master another song for the piano. I’m thinking of doing a series of guitar-styled photographs, any thoughts?

Okay, so I’ve never writen a DA journal, but you have to start somewhere, and I’m not just going to spend the whole time being nostalgic. So, something really exciting happened today, or rather, it was just a freaking awesome day, in which I got to eat ice cream flavoured like eggnog with Oreos. Yes,  eggnog ice cream in freaking winter (though there isn’t any snow, how dissapionting.) It was awesome.

Anyways, that’s all I really have to say for now. Hi to everyone who’s supported my art, especialy my really good friends who’ve supported me though life in general. So thanks, Over and Out
